A 35-year-old man has been captured on doubt of endeavoring to cause intolerable substantial damage after a crossbow jolt was shot into the Oval Cricket Ground in south London.

The man was captured on Saturday morning (2 September) in the wake of going to a south London police headquarters. He has since been safeguarded to a date in late September, pending further enquiries.

A County Championship cricket coordinate amongst Surrey and Middlesex was suspended on 31 August after the metal-tipped shot arrived on the pitch close players and umpires.

Players were advised by the umpire to promptly leave the pitch, making them rushed to the evolving rooms. Equipped police were called and the ground was in the long run cleared, with the match being set apart as a draw; there were no reports of any wounds.

Investigator Constable Dominic Landragin of Lambeth CID stated: "There were noteworthy group watching the match and it is likely that some of those present will have film of the occurrence that could aid our examination.
